Review of the Gold Rush

Theme and plot of the story

Gold Rush, a video game by Rival that takes place during one of the gold rushes of the 1800s, using a cartoon aesthetic to immerse the player in a Wild West setting where the word “wild” is heavily underlined.

The artwork in the backdrop depicts a stream that is teeming with gold nuggets and just waiting to be filtered out by a shrewd prospector. Money bags and a prospecting old timer with a bushy white beard are used as reels in this game.

Despite the fact that there are a plethora of other games set in and around the Gold Rush, this one retains some of the meditative simplicity of sitting by a river and gently panning for the little grains of gold that are hidden amid the silt.

Graphics, sounds, and animations are all included.

This slot has a very simple visual set up, and some of the design choices appear a touch dated in comparison to more modern slots. However, it is successful in conveying the desired look.

Both the cartoon graphics and backdrop, as well as the sound track, which is composed of the sound of wind blowing over the terrain, create a relaxing environment.

The animations are relatively simple, with the exception of a flashing line to signal a win and the spinning of the reels, which are the only motions that occur in the frame. Whether it is endearing minimalism or just plain dull will depend on the sort of person who chooses to play the game.

Gameplay

Gold Rush is a straightforward three-reel slot with just one payline. It is as straightforward as it gets, therefore players should be prepared to deal with a style that is as straightforward as it gets.

It does manage to include both a Wild and a Scatter, which is something that not all small-scale slots are able to achieve.

Players may also choose to play with one, two, or three coins, depending on their preference. Given the control over the coin values, players should always opt to play with three coins if possible, as this provides a proportionally larger payout on the most valuable symbol. On average, the payoff for three coins is three times more than the payout for one coin, and with the highest value symbol, the payout is four times greater than for one coin.

Wilds, bonuses, and free spins are all included in this game.

The Wild symbol may be used to replace any other sign, with the exception of the Scatter symbol. Wins that include a Wild get an x2 multiplier, while wins that include two Wilds receive an x4 multiplier.

When two Scatter symbols appear anywhere on the winline, the payout is doubled. It gives out an amount equal to the amount of money the player staked on each spin.

Neither bonus games nor free spins are available in this game, nor are there any other unique features. Gaming in its most basic level may be found in this.

Bet sizes, return on investment (RTI), and variance

With a 95.94 percent return to player, this game is more or less in line with our benchmark for an average of about 96 percent return to player.

There was a wide range of bets available on the site we tested, starting with a minimum bet per spin of $/£/€0.01 (which is easily the lowest stakes we’ve seen in those currencies) and rising to a maximum bet per spin of $/£/€30.00 (which is also quite low, but will still cover most gamblers’ preferred bet per spin).

Because of the game’s antiquity, it is difficult to get specifics on the statistics data from Gold Rush. We were unable to locate any publicly available information on its volatility. However, with a maximum payout of 400 times the player’s initial wager, this is not a slot with a high level of volatility.

Conclusion

Overall, Gold Rush is a pretty enjoyable slot machine game to play, with a straightforward gaming mechanism and a surprising amount of calmness for a slot machine game.

The return on investment (RTI) is below average, and the volatility is not high enough to be useful with our slot techniques, but other players may find it appealing.

Ultimately, Gold Rush succeeds in what it sets out to do. However, it is ineffective.
