Review of The Shining Crown

Theme and plot of the story

The ornamental motif for EGT’s Shining Crown slot machine is based on a vintage slot machine design. The traditional one-armed bandit symbols like lucky-7s, bells, cherries, and other miscellaneous fruit, as well as the eponymous crowns, appear with the Wild sign, which is the title crown.

It is a time-honored concept that performs as well as any of the other comparable games that capitalize on the cachet of old-school aesthetics and gameplay.

Graphics, sounds, and animations are all included.

The visuals are stunning, with high-definition symbols rolling around beautifully animated reels.

The sound design is in line with the idea, which is to say it is quite simple. There is no music and the soundtrack is largely a kind of mechanical whirr when you spin the reels and a pleasing thunk when they stop.

We regret to inform you that it is all just a highly shiny version of a slot machine that we have seen hundreds of times before. Having said that, it does an excellent job with its rendition.

Gameplay

The gameplay is fairly straightforward. In the lack of Bonus symbols, the only thing that distinguishes this game from the standard “press button, lose or win money, rinse and repeat” style of play is the presence of progressive jackpots (see below).

A red/black gamble option is available in case you wish to increase the volatility of what is already a quite high-variance game, but even this seems relatively stale in comparison to the vast majority of other games available.

Wilds, bonuses, and free spins are all included in this game.

Rather than the usual bonuses triggered by hitting a combo of symbols, Shining Crown offers instead a kind of hybrid bonus and jackpot system. This is referred to as the Mystery Jackpot.

There are four jackpots available, one for each suit. These are built up at the top of the screen you are now playing in by taking a little contribution from each wager placed every spin by all participants in the game and adding it to the total. Every now and again, a jackpot is granted to a random spin of the wheel.

If you are fortunate enough to be awarded one, a new bonus game will be unlocked for you. The bonus game consists of twelve cards that are dealt face down (three of each suit). You continue to flip over the cards until you have three of the same suit revealed. After then, you will get half of the value of the jackpot that you won.

Because the jackpots rise at various rates, the Clubs jackpot is normally the lowest and the Spades jackpot is the highest; but, as seen in the figure below, where the diamond jackpot was just reached, your results may vary.

Shining Crown also has a Wild symbol with a crown on it, in addition to the bonus game mentioned above. This may be used as a substitute for any symbol other than the two Scatter symbols. It will also spread to encompass the whole reel if it aids in the formation of a winning line.

A Standard Scatter is one of the scatters in this game. If you get three, four, or five of this symbol in a row, you will win 5, 20, or 100 times your stake for that particular spin.

To earn a reward of up to 20 times your stake per spin, you must land three or more of the Special Scatter symbols (star symbols) anywhere on the reels that include them.

Bet sizes, return on investment (RTI), and variance

The return to player (RTP) of 96.37 percent is about normal for the industry, and with a coin size range of 10 to 600 coins every spin, you may acquire a reasonable variety of bet amounts for each spin by varying the value of the coins.

Symbols are often stacked so hitting combos is rarer, but do tend to be fairly large when you do hit a winning combo (or rather “winning combos”). As a consequence, your bankroll’s performance while playing Shining Crown might be very erratic as a result of this. You’ll want to bring enough cash to the table to be able to ride out the extended periods of time between victories.

Conclusion

Shining Crown is a very straightforward game, to be sure, but the high volatility and average return to player (RTP) mean that it works nicely with some of our favorite betting techniques.

The graphics, on the other hand, are passably good. In truth, the only real flaw in the game is that the bonus game isn’t that interesting to play; nonetheless, the most of the other elements are rather good.
