Archer – With a countenance as ethereal and innocent as Maid Marion, Archer possesses a heart as dark and twisted as that of the Sheriff of Nottingham. The poor return on investment (RTI) of 94.99 percent and medium volatility should serve as a deterrent to playing in these woodlands.

Review of Archer
Theme and plot of the story
Robin Hood symbolism is certainly present in the design of Archer, yet the game’s title avoids being overtly referenced.
We are all aware with Robin Hood’s story and folklore, so the fact that this slot takes a fresh approach is a positive development. Making something that was once outdated, functional, and attractive again.
Perhaps it was for the same reason their Robin Hood looks rather old, and their Friar Tuck and Guy Gisborne look eerily like brothers. Despite the bizarre character designs, Archer delivers a satisfying interpretation of the narrative, complete with a well-constructed environment for the characters to inhabit and lots of medieval flair in the artwork.
Graphics, sounds, and animations are all included.
Archer’s visuals are well-crafted, and the game’s unique take on classic characters is a pleasant surprise. There is a certain amount of pixelation in the artwork, which gives the game the sense of a late-90s point and click adventure game.
The animations are a touch on the simple side. They simply draw attention to the few elements that are required to make winning combinations obvious and to persuade the player that the reels are, in fact, spinning.
An additional audio track plays in the background as part of the spin noises and does an excellent job of evoking the musical score of those Technicolor blockbusters released by Hollywood in the mid-20th Century.
Gameplay
Archer seems to be a straightforward five-reel slot with three rows and an any way wins mechanism on the surface.
However, it has a fun little gameplay element called Expand and Split that is included in the original game. The cells on the reels with an arrow border are chosen at random. When these symbols are used in a winning combination and a Scatter symbol appears on the reels, they expand to span the whole row in which they appear.
However, instead of replacing the other symbols on the reels, those other symbols split and become both their original symbol and the enlarged symbol, creating a winning combination.
Wilds, bonuses, and free spins are all included in this game.
The Wild sign, which appears on reels two, three, and four, may be used to replace for all other symbols save the Scatter symbol.
Three or more Scatter symbols appearing anywhere on the reels activate the Free Spins feature, which awards the player seven free spins to begin with. Three Scatters will also provide a payout of double the player’s stake for each spin, as well as ten and fifty times the player’s bet if the player gets four and five Scatters, respectively.
During the free spins, the Expand and Split feature is activated for any symbols with an arrow border that are part of a winning combination, regardless of whether or not they are part of the winning combination. When playing the main game, the Expand and Split feature is only activated when a Scatter is also present, however this is not the case here.
Free Spins may be re-triggered as many times as you like, and there is no limit to the total amount of Free Spins you can get.
Bet sizes, return on investment (RTI), and variance
Its return to player is 94.99 percent, which is just more than a percentage point below than our yardstick for average, which is about 96 percent. This is detrimental to the game, particularly considering that the volatility is only moderate.
Because of its moderate volatility, this slot machine is a poor fit for our favored slot machine tactics. Our slot techniques are designed to provide the greatest amount of volatility feasible. This could be made up for by a generous RTP, but this slot opts to steal from the rich, without giving to the poor.
There was a wide selection of bets available on the site we tested, starting with a minimum bet per spin of $/£/€0.25 and going up to a maximum wager per spin of $1, 250.00.
Conclusion
Robin Hood-themed slot Archer is a fun and immersive experience, and it has some lovely small graphic eccentricities that keep it interesting.
However, after the surface of the game has been scratched, the game becomes very monotonous. Although the Expand and Split function is intriguing on its own, it does not manage to come together with the other aspects to produce something that is worth playing.
Furthermore, the low return to player (RTP) indicates that the game is costly to play, and the medium volatility suggests that the game will not perform as well with our slot methods as higher volatility games.
