Theme and plot of the story

Using the theme of chivalry and the exploits of knightly heroes, the slot machine Knights exposes players to the world of gambling. In the backdrop, beautiful countryside rises up, surrounding a fairy tale castle and creating an atmosphere that seems part Lord of the Rings, half Game of Thrones.

Who hasn’t fantasized of participating in a joust or setting out on a journey while clothed in iron armour and riding a fine steed? This isn’t precisely the same thing, but it comes with a much less risk of dying in a foreign conflict than the previous option.

Graphics, sounds, and animations are all included.

The visuals are technically great, with people and settings depicted in fine detail on both the reels and in the backdrop, and the sound effects are also excellent. Its topic matter, on the other hand, is presented in a quite unspectacular and pastel-colored manner, which is detrimental to the slot.

The animations and soundtrack are well-matched, and although the music is far from flawless, it is unlikely to cause most players to want to sever their own ears with their longswords while they are playing.

Gameplay

The game’s five-reel, three-row layout has a few interesting twists that make it a worthwhile experience. In order to begin, you may convert the game into a six-reel slot machine by increasing the amount of money you wager every spin. The additional fee is offset by the possibility of hitting six symbol combinations and winning much more money.

Aside from that, the major draw is the highly substantial Free Spins bonus, which is worth a look (where much of the volatility and all the biggest wins come from).

When used as part of a winning combination, the Wild symbol may be substituted for all other symbols except the Scatter symbol, and a two-times multiplier is applied.

No matter where two or more Scatter symbols appear on the reels or on the win lines, the Scatter pays out for any combination of them. When you receive two symbols on the reels, the payout is equal to your wager every spin; however, when you get six symbols on the reels, the payout is fifteen hundred times your bet per spin.

Scatter symbols of three, four, five, or six in number also activate the Free Spins bonus, which awards 10, 15, 30, or 40 free spins depending on the number of Scatter symbols in play. When the Free Spin bonus is activated, free spins may be retriggered, with the added advantage of hitting two Scatter symbols during the Free Spin bonus will provide two more spins.

It is only when one of the three Knight symbols appears on a reel during the free games that that symbol becomes active on that reel. Once triggered, the symbol acts as a Wild symbol on the corresponding reel for the remainder of the Free Spins bonus round.

After the first five wins, multipliers are added to all subsequent wins. Beginning with the sixth free spin, a two-times multiplier is applied, rising to three times from the sixth spin onwards. From the eleventh spin onwards, a three-time multiplier is applied.

With a return to player of 95.10 percent, this is a very bad performance, falling nearly a full percentage point below our standard of about 96 percent a game.

The range of bets on the site we tested ran from a minimum bet per spin of $/£/€0.10 up to a maximum of $/£/€35.00 per spin. This is a relatively modest range that may exclude big rollers, but it provides a wide variety of bets with fine granularity for low stakes players.

Knights has incredibly high volatility, which would make it a great fit for our favored slot machine methods if it were accompanied with a higher return to player. Unfortunately, this is not the case.

Conclusion

Knights is a visually appealing slot game, yet we have some misgivings regarding the use of some graphic elements in the game. The lowest possible return to the player, on the other hand, is the most hardest problem to overcome. We prefer slots that score more than our average of 96 percent; this score is far lower than that.

The poor return to player is somewhat offset by the high volatility, which makes the game more interesting. Because of the high level of volatility, and in combination with the great gameplay and fascinating bonus feature, we are comfortable giving this slot a moderate rating.
