Review of Rich Wilde and the Book of the Dead

Theme and plot of the story

In this iteration of the unending Book of Ra ripoffs, the player is provided with a main character who is no longer a copyright evading ripoff of movie hero Indiana Jones, but rather an original character. The protagonist instead is a rip-off of computer game star Nathan Drake, who goes by the name of Rich Wilde.

Everything else is similar to previous games – an Ancient Egyptian burial backdrop, hieroglyphics and sarcophaguses on the reels – with updated visuals and a little more shine added to the overall look and feel. If you have already loved the Book of Ra slot and its numerous imitators, you will discover nothing new in Book of Dead to excite your interest or surprise you.

Graphics, sounds, and animations are all included.

The visuals are more or less the same as they were in the previous games, with the primary differences being a better resolution and a little more polish on the artwork.

Also taken from the original Play’n’Go standard skin, although with a little improvement in sound quality and complexity, are the sound effects and music that play throughout the game. When it comes to the sound effects, the music does a good job of creating a desert mood for the player, but there is very nothing else that is as well-tailored.

The animations are adequate, but they are essentially the same as the general Play’n’Go animations with just the text altered. That Egyptian or adventure movie flair that would have tied the game together would have been a nice touch.

Gameplay

Book of Dead has a main game as well as a free spins bonus round. Both games are played on a five-reel slot with three rows and 10 win lines that may be customized. You have the option of setting the game to any number between one and all ten lines.

More than that, there aren’t many other features in the main game, but there is a gamble function for those who wish to increase the volatility of this slot even further.

On the whole, Book of Dead seems to be a fairly conventional slot, not doing a great deal of various things but doing what it does very well indeed.

Wilds, bonuses, and free spins are all included in this game.

One of the hieroglyphs on the reels stands out as particularly noteworthy: the Book sign, which serves as both a wild symbol and a scatter symbol.

As a wildcard, the Book sign may be used to replace any other symbol. In contrast, as a scatter symbol, the Book sign pays out from anywhere on the reels, regardless of whether or not it appears on a winning payline.

Three books will pay out twice your wager every spin, four books will pay out twenty times your bet per spin, and five symbols will pay out two hundred times your bet per spin, depending on how many books you have. This is in addition to any winlines that it may be a part of as a Wild.

In addition, three or more Books will result in 10 free spins. While you are playing the free spins, a symbol is randomly selected to grow on any reel, resulting in an extra prize. Unlike conventional symbols, which must appear on a win line from left to right beginning with the first reel, the expanding symbol may appear anywhere on a win line to result in a win.

Free spins may be retriggered by landing three or more Scatter symbols on the reels during the free spins round, thus adding another ten spins to your total number of available spins.

Bet sizes, return on investment (RTI), and variance

It is estimated that this game has a 96.21 percent return to player. This is within the bracket of roughly 96% that we use as our yardstick for average.

When we tested the site, the lowest wager each spin was $/£/€0.01, and the maximum bet per spin was $/£/€0.10, depending on whether you played just one line or all ten. In our testing, the maximum wager per spin on the site we used was $/£/€100.00.

The volatility of this game rivals that of the Great Pyramids of Giza; Play’n’Go rates it as the greatest degree of volatility they generate, with a score of 10/10 for extreme volatility. Because of its very high volatility, this slot machine is an ideal fit for our favorite slot machine tactics.

Conclusion

Book of Dead is one of the most well-known video slots available. This is partly due to the fact that it incorporates well-known characters from popular culture into a familiar setting, and accomplishes a comparable but more polished job than its immediate competition Book of Ra, which is considered a classic.

In addition to its strong fundamentals, we like it for its high volatility and respectable return to the investor. Both of these characteristics make it an excellent fit for our slot strategy.

This one comes highly recommended by us.
