Gladiator Jackpot video game review

Theme and plot of the story

Gladiator Jackpot is a movie-themed video slot that is based on the narrative of the iconic Ridley Scott film Gladiator and features a progressive jackpot.

Unfortunately, obtaining the trademark did not provide them ownership of Russell Crowe’s likeness, and as a result, the main character does not appear in any of the game’s cutscenes.

Additionally peculiar about this slot is that the term “colosseum” is spelt throughout the game using the alternate spelling “coliseum, ” which is a medieval alternative spelling that hasn’t been regularly used in more than 600 years.

There are a plethora of Rome-themed slots that are more in keeping with the film’s overall tone than this one. If you’re looking for a slot that captures the atmosphere of a certain film, try one of these.

Graphics, sounds, and animations are all included.

Despite having received permission from the film studio, the final result is a little shaky. When you change the screen size away from the scale that the creators intended, you will see unattractive pixelation.

Although the selection of character photographs is limited, the animations are straightforward, including just the substitution of a new picture and zooming in and out.

There is no background music in this video. Given the importance of the original Hans Zimmer soundtrack, this was a monumental omission. Even a fading replica of the victory and spin noises would have been preferable to the generic sounds that the designers chose.

Overall, the design of this slot machine is quite unsatisfactory for lovers of either slot machines or the film Gladiator, since it is both.

Gameplay

The fundamental game is a straightforward five-reel, three-row slot machine. There are twenty-five victory lines in the game, each of which may be adjusted.

There is no option to bet in this game. Despite the fact that it features two extra games, they do nothing to improve the tempo or excitement of a game that seems to have been put together with little effort on its part.

Wilds, bonuses, and free spins are all included in this game.

The Wild symbol may be used to replace any other symbol with the exception of the Scatter symbol.

The Gladiator Jackpot Bonus is triggered when three or more Wild symbols appear on a single game. This gives the gamer the opportunity to spin on unique reels. There are nine locations on a grid, and each position is represented by one of three Helmet emblems, which are available in Gold, Silver, and Bronze colors. The metal correlates to a certain multiplier in the game. The player wins the sum of the values of all nine Helmets, which is the entire worth of the nine Helmets. If the player obtains all nine Gold Helmets, he or she will be awarded the progressive jackpot (unless the bonus was triggered during a free spin).

The Coliseum Bonus is triggered when three or more Scatter symbols appear on the reels. This is a Free Spins bonus game that includes a selecting game to determine the amount of free spins awarded as well as the multiplier for those spins, as well as extra scatter and wild symbols on the reels.

Bet sizes, return on investment (RTI), and variance

This game has a 94.09 percent return to the player (return on investment). This is much too low a score. Our standard for average is around 96 percent, and coming in two percentage points below that figure is a black mark that no slot can overcome. That roaring sound you’re hearing is the sound of our advice being thrown to the wolves.

There was a wide variety of bets available on the site we tested, ranging from a minimum wager per spin of $0.01 to a maximum stake per spin of $25.00.

The level of volatility in this game is moderate. Even if the return to player (RTP) were not excruciatingly low, this would make it a poor fit for our favored slot machine strategy.

Conclusion

Having recovered from the shock of discovering a licensed slot machine game that does not include Russell Crowe, Hans Zimmer, or tigers, one might be surprised all over again by how sloppily designed this slot machine game has been created.

The user interface is unattractive, the audio is not very immersive, and the return on investment (RTI) is absurdly low.

There isn’t a single redeeming feature to this tired and lazy slot. Two thumbs down on this one.
