Theme and plot of the story

Medusa II’s universe is based on the semi-tragic narrative of Medusa and the heroic myth of Perseus, who was responsible for her death. The snake-haired Gorgon of Greek myth appears in the game along with plenty of other ancient Greek style symbols.

If you had a straight line of sight on Medusa in the original story, you’d turn to stone since she was so unconscionably nasty to look upon.
