Pussy Cat review

Theme and plot of the story

Cats are a favorite of many people. They’re little fluffy pest control devices that are lovely and cuddly. It’s true that they may be a bit cold and unkind at times, but we like it when someone is a little difficult to please.

Unfortunately, Ainsworth’s Pussy Cat has very little depiction of our furry pals, choosing instead for cat toys and comic sans ten to queen symbols as its primary visual elements.

That seems to be a squandered opportunity in terms of generally appealing concepts.

Graphics, sounds, and animations are all included.

In truth, the absence of cats is hardly the only chance that has been squandered. When creating the numerous aesthetic considerations that must be made when constructing a slot machine, it is important to keep the overall design in mind. Ainsworth, the Australian-based slot manufacturer responsible for the Pussy Cat slot machine, seems to have made a series of poor mistakes.

Simply said, the game’s visuals are aesthetically offensive. The imagery is presented in the form of crudely produced icons and unappealing colors. The whole thing looks like it was rendered in Microsoft Paint circa 1999, not a release from early 2019 as it, surprisingly, is in fact.

The only area in which they made the right decision was in the sound design, which eschewed a musical accompaniment and kept win chimes and reel noises to the most rudimentary specifications possible.

Gameplay

A 25-payline slot with a typical five-by-three grid layout is included in the game. The most significant source of diversity in the gameplay is provided by the rather confusing assortment of Wilds, Bonuses, and Free Spins that are discussed more below.

The gameplay is quite standard, and the extra variants are unable to take the game beyond the level of total dullness that it has reached.

Wilds, bonuses, and free spins are all included in this game.

In addition to substituting for all other symbols except the Scatter, the Wilds appear on reels 2, 3, and 4.

It pays out from any position (2x your stake for three symbols, 20x for four, and 50x for five), and it also triggers a respin if you land precisely two of them on the reels at the same time. As a result of the respin, the reels having a Scatter symbol on them remain in place. The Free Spins bonus is triggered when three or more Scatter symbols appear on the reels.

During the Free Spins bonus there are a number of changes to the reels: a Silver Wild is added to reels 2, 3, and 4 in addition to the regular Wild; both Wilds and Silver Wilds are each assigned a random multiplier between one and six times; a new paytable is in effect; and the Grand, Major, Minor, and Mini Bonuses are brought online.

Silver Wilds function in the same way as ordinary Wilds, with the exception that if you hit both a Wild and a Silver Wild on the same payline, your win is doubled by the sum of the two multipliers associated with the Wild and Silver Wild symbols involved.

If a reel is completely covered by three Wilds, the player will also get one of the following bonuses: the Grand, Major, Minor, or Mini.

Bet sizes, return on investment (RTI), and variance

As a result, we can only offer this slot a modest recommendation in terms of its volatility, which is at the higher end of the medium range. Overall, though, we recommend that you forgo this position in favor of something with a bit more variance.

The return to player on this game is a dismally low 94.16 percent, which is over 2 percent lower than our estimated average of 96 percent. This is much too low, since our projected average is 96 percent.

The site we tested has a wager size range of £1.00 to £40.00 per spin, with a minimum bet per spin of £1.00 and a maximum bet per spin of £/$/€40.00. This is an oddly low range of bets.

Conclusion

This is an unsightly game with a disgracefully poor return on investment. Normally, these would be sufficient grounds to rule out the possibility of a recommendation altogether.

The sole redeeming aspect is the high(ish) volatility of the game, as well as the jackpot-style Grand and Major bonuses, which are the only other redeemable features.
